Has it been four years?

Apparently has. Time is such an abstract painting.

Judd and I met again, in a random hostel, near the train station, in Nice, France. The meeting wasn't random, it was pure destiny, after 4 years, I'm still talking about it. We went to the bar, maintained a high level of conversation, went back to the hostel, I slept with him, he left in the morning.

I have a photograph of him. That isn't important.

He suggested two novels: one of which I recalled by morning light. "The Alchamist". Judd suggested it, I ordered it from Amazon.com at an internet cafe, locked behind some car garage near the beach, in Nice, France. Knowing it would be awaiting my arrival in the states. That is what is important.

Allan was in Nice, France yesterday. Traveled to Paris, by train, and picked up a book in Nice, France, to read on the train.

Three guesses to what book he picked up. The first 2 don't count.

Nice France is nice..reminds me of a song in an old movie:

"It's never chilly in Santiago Chile"

Oddly enough

When I was very young, like kindergarten, we had a series of books by Richard Scarry (creator of Huckle Cat and others), and one of them was about traveling the world. Some anaconda wrapped itself around an overcrowded plane to get everyone to Carnival in Rio (as the plane had split open at the seams due to an overabundance of tourist dogs, pigs, monkeys, jaguars, toucans, and an anteater) while there was some escapade about bulldog Beefeaters in London. The caper in Mexico involved an armadillo and dozens of terra cotta pots filled with beans. A piglet played the role of the boy with his finger in a dike in the Netherlands.

Some spy -- a dog, I believe -- was in disguise in the south of France, and was spending some time there on his way to Monte Carlo. There was a sign that said "Nice" with a pair of cats sunbathing nearby, and I thought for ages that the sign was referring to either the weather or the beach and its facilities.

I think I may have been in college before I learned that there is a French city called Nice (and that it is pronounced "Niece"), and this was what that sign was referring to.

i would love to create a time line of your life in a room, and every string would end up connecting and i would not doubt it would create a big beautiful circle.
