Did you notice her hands? When we met her in the lobby. How they had texture, worn from the harp, showed age, showed life, struggle, and determination, did you notice her hands?

Did you notice her eyes, her hair, her face. Not her, but her. Over dinner, during the conversation, her mentioning of struggles and a quest for homeopathic approach. Did you see her determination, her strength, her inner beutey?

After my conversations with Christine and Allan today, I was still in the dark as to what the night would entail. [livejournal.com profile] imyaj, drove and the conversation flowed up to Minneapolis. Met up with Christine outside of the theatre which she informed me that among 15 others, we would have BACKSTAGE Passes for the sold out concert. On her suggestion, we went to Rock Bottom Brewery for dinner. A quick bite was held over conversation of where we were at that moment in our lives. She mentioned that "my boyfriend's cousin, was involved in filming Loreena Mckennit and that Allan's and my match, was a heavenly one" Gasp. How wonderful!!! A small prayer was held prior to dinner of salad and burgers, talk of homeopathic therapy, medicine, and networking.

When we got to our seats, with our backstage badges pinned to our chests, there was a older lady and a young guy to our right. They also had backstage passes, having met a production worker at the winery that the guy (Nicolas) worked at, and he brought his mother Gloria, to the concert. Nicolas spoke with a perfect English accent, having relocated back to the states from years of teaching English abroad.

Loreena McKennitt is FABULOUSE out of this world live. THe audience, were very receptive to her music, as shown by not one, but two encores. I believe this was her first time playing in Minneapolis. Unfortunately I didn't get the set list (was going to ask as it was available at the merchendice stand-forgot). She played Highwayman, She Moved through the fair, mummers dance, the lady of Shalott, Bonny Portmore, Caravanserai....

During "Dante's prayer", I got quite teary eyed. The crying continued when she played.... "The OLD WAYS", just utterly utterly wonderful....Her telling of the story prior to Dante's prayer about being on the Trans-serberian train and interaction with this lady and having dried salmon from Canada was awe inspiring. I had his image in my mind the whole time.

The 9 member band were jamming and having a great time, specially with the violin player that made the strings smoke...

After the concert we continued kibitzing with Nic and Gloria (who I have a feeling was on the Melissa Ethridge side of the fence), and were coralled into our group. Among those were Sarena and Phil from L.A. who had met the drummer while at the hotel, and were invited down. We went to the under part of the theatre, where low and behold Lorenna showed. Had a great time to talk to everyone as well as her. THere was a group of ladies who seem to have a connection on a personal level with them, and a man and woman who got engaged during the concert. Lorenna is very down to earth, aproachable, and talkative. Felt like a big dork, that I adored her music and was tickled pink that she played the Old ways.....got our photo taken with her, and got a few things autographed....

Said our goodbyes to Christine, who was very hospitable specially for people she hasn't met, and talked to Nic and Gloria before we headed into that good night... of course a phone call with Allan was in store....

Conversation into that great night evolved about social nature of us beings, the night, and everything inbetween...

It couldn't of been more perfect... perfect if he was here.. he was in spirit, and such a unique gift he gave me... there would of been no one else I would of gone with, miss [livejournal.com profile] imyaj is kick ass, adaptable, and wonderful to muse with....

Its late, I'm exhausted... peacefully sleep to those who are there, and here, and those who will sleep in the daylight hours....
