Met up with
tattooedartgirl and hubby today. Had an excellent day on all acounts. Great activities, company, and exploration.
The SFMOMA (San Fancisco Modern Art Museum) was a real trip, and they had a Calder exhibition comming through. I can't believe I almost past gong to this museum and SO thankful to Barbe and Rob for suggestion it. Thank you guys.
It was very much a trip, there was some extremply interesting pieces, and for
imyaj they had a urninal in white with your name all over it. Part of the dada movement.
One of the most pecular pieces, actually 2 were video footage on repeat play.
The first: "the Twenth Century", a video of a group of people in a cafe 3 boys, 2 girls, sitting as almost in a snap shot. The main focus, a man, had a lit ciggarette. The video played without any movement (very slight in the subjects-blinking, breathing), except for the lit cigarette that kept burning, untill it finally gave way to ash and fell on the table, and the video was over. A wonderful piece of video footage.
The other, which Rob adored, was a white box with video footage displayed on four sides. The video was of 2 people, a male and a female in a small box, possibly 4 feet squared, NUDE, and moving within it, brushing the black paint from the glass whenever movement occured. The sounds of them was very archaric, and added to the surrealism.
The title: DUSTED by peter Sarkinson.
Aftwards went back to the flat and met miss bette who is to die for! Barbe showed me how to do altered pez and I loved her creative space. very rockin... and spread out... worked on a few pieces to work on later on in the week.
I'm in the need to CRASH. On the bed. Right. Now.
