One of my joys is the group of gay men I hang out with. There has been for as long as I remember a small group that meets for dinner on Wednesday nights. Varies week to week, but usually the same cohorts. E-mail goes out with a battle insueing wed morning for a location and it goes from there...
Last night it was at Romano's Macaroni Grill-an american versian of an italian resteraunt. What bothered me, is that with a group of intellegent men, professional men, they sometimes show immaturity. If we are not talking about sex, drag queens or dishing gossip (usually on each other), all the cell phones and techno gagets are spread out and played with. Being less than a techno-geek it doesn't impress me... isn't there something more to do or rather talk about than the latest ringy dingy??
Had a great conversation with Don. A native of the area who returned from boston with husband in tow. They are having trouble with adaptation to the area. At any rate his compliment of "your so not minnesotian" really made my day.
He asked "are you happy?"
If someone told me 5 years ago, I would be where I am today, I'd tell them they were crazy. Never did I think life would of dealt me the cards they did, nor would I be exactly where I am in reality at this moment. It boggles my mind.
I'm content. HOnestly, truthfully, I am content with my life right now.
