Went to bed shortly after returning home from the Red Wood Room, and woke up about 3:30. Decided that since I was up, I should check out the Acid flavored Yogart (YOGA). Talked to the instructor afterwards: Dawn, and her co-hort, Mya, who seem very cool and collective. They of course find me to be a trip!

Mark on your calandar the date of Nov 26th. I "think" it is a Tuesday Morning. My yearly eval is that day, at 6:00 a.m. Not only is it SUPER early this year, I also have my yearly aprehensions regarding it. In previous years, the evaluation has caused some anxiety. I'm very much in the "FUCK IT" mode-as in "don't fuck with me". I go beyond the call of duty, cross most of my T's and dot every third i, on every shift. I know what the hell I'm doing, and it should be straight forward. Although usually it is not.

Bringing my issues forward isn't beneath me either: if she asks any feedback in regards to her managment skill, i'm more than happy to give her both positive and constructive feedback.

I'm actually glad this was finally planned. Its one more loose thread to tie up before the closing of the year....

This will be my 26th yearly review at our place of employment. I must say, it has improved. However, to help you, here are a few suggestions. Can you navigate around the confusing mess we call MICS?. Who designed that system anyway? Isn't it lovely charting in multiple places. (I never though 26 years ago that I would be practicing nursing in front of a computer.) Have you attended 2 tracers so you can show how you navigate MICS? Are you on a committee? (its our way, don't ya know)Did you attend Foster and Hick's? How many times have you come in on your day off to attend a council meeting? Or stayed late after a grueling night shift? Have you joined a national organization? What are your goals? What is your time frame to meet them and how are you going to accomplish them? I think I have them done pat by now.

When Evals go askew

Don't get me started on Mics last word. That entire system is a joke, and I wish we were back to paper charting. But that is just me.

As far as the eval goes, too easily are attacks made on ones personality, and relations with others, than if they are able to get the work done, critical think, and operate as a nurse on the floor. That is what is concerning me... 8-)
