The Yellow Brick Road

I've. always had this thing with the Wizard of Oz.

As a kid, I always hid and fearful of Mrs. Gulch/Wicked witch of the east. Hid under the blanket. As an adult, I watch her proud. Quite enjoyed the backstory portrayed in "Wicked.". My annual Christmas Tradition is putting up all the Hallmark Wizard of Oz Ornaments, which have been gifts from my parents. Lately my mom and I watch it Christmas Eve.

After all the drama, the weekend with Mark worked out. He was able to attend the Drag Queen Bingo I performed at. He and The Gary were at separate ends of the room. As Mark put it, "It was nice to see me in my element." He left early to head back to Minneapolis. Thankfully, we were able to have a little goodbye.

He was concerned that we hadn't made future plans to our next encounter. Of course in my negativity mind, inquired about an agreement that we would like to see each other again.# Facepalm. Of course. We are friends, for at least 5 years. Probably one of the longest new relationships I have had in a long time.

He mentioned that he would see me down the yellow brick road. what a wonderful image and thought to leave by. During my second number I looked out to where he sat, and he had left.

The Gary was still there.

Rocky Horror

The local Indie theater did a viewing of "Rocky Horror" with a live cast at the local theater. Went with a friend of mine who I have gone before. He has seen in 3-4 times, I myself, at least 75. I went as brad, and my pants fit. Mad dash today trying to track down a brad wig, as I couldn't find the one that I had. Not sure why I didn't have it with the costume and the Jockey Underwear was missing.

They had a group do call backs, which was alright. Most of the people (read 99%) of the audience hadn't seen it, although some were in costume. Bonus. Guess I am the old guy now, who sits in the back with all the call back lines. I remember seeing it at the college in the town I grew up when I was in high school. There was some guy who knew all the lines and had seen the film 100's of times.

Great little halloween Tradition. Super fun.
