Opening Weekend
6 December 2021 17:36No rehearsal tonight. Happy dance.
Thursday was preview. Julie and her mom came. It was a good decision to offer them the comp tickets, and they both enjoyed themselves. Thank goodness we finally had an audiance.
Friday night (Opening), went well. Delano and T-Money attended. That is a bit where things got weird, when one of the kid audience members, came up to me and started to talk drag after the show. I think she was the girlfriend of one of the kid actresses. Its a bit confusing. I just wasn't expecting to be tossed into the spotlight and being an advocate, or that my make-up looks draggy, when I got casted as a female character. Its a mind mess.
There was a reception after the show which was quite lovely. The directors and the adults sat around drank wine and did and listen/sang to R play the guitar. IT was late before I got home.
Saturday night was mostly sold out, with the first wave of the work crew. They seemed to enjoy it, with many hugs from everyone after. Yay. J, also sent me a dozen beautiful roses that arrived back stage. Had to laugh as one of the kids wanted a rose so they could do some witchcraft. That is Max. Apparently, Max (female), has a girlfriend.
Sunday my parents drove up with my sister. They arrived in the morning, we went to breakfast, and then I went to the theatre to get ready. Interesting to note, that Utica Queen from Ru Pauls Drag race was sitting behind me. Utica opened up her art installation exhibit on Saturday. I think they had 600 tickets sold. Talked briefly, to him for a bit.
Its going well.
