Took a break from Railing land, and watched "The Night Listener".

As a fan of bizzare movies, Toni Collette, and Sandra Oh, this was up my alley-and then some. I find it facinating how such movies not only go under my radar (or the majority at large), but are also rooted in somewhat truth and the nature of our reality as we know it today.

"Tales of the City" author Armistead Maupin had gotten a story by a 14 year old boy, who he befriended and started a correspondence with. With time, it was discovered that this 14 year old boy, who Maupin connected with on a intellectual and friendship level, turned out to be a 40 year old woman with a severe case of mental illness. This idea of communicating with a fasade, a figment of somones imagination is the basis of this thriller.

Enter the realm of the internet, where anyone can compose themselves a fantasy self, that is contrived much from the imagination. In case anyone wonders, I'm a real person! Interesting enough to note, how far the heart yearns for some connection, and to come to the end of that relationship, to find nothing but a cloud of dust.

Excellent Film.

P.S. HAPPY BIRTHDAY [livejournal.com profile] selwynne!
In retrospect, I didn't accomplish alot during the past 12 hours of the day.

Although I did manage some cleaning, picked away at the railing project and came to the realisation, its going to be spendy, and watched a few movies-messed a little with art.

"Red Violin" arrived. Next viewing I'll have to make sure the English subtitles are on. One of the many flix's recomended by a dear friend. And I enjoyed it.

My portable dvd player died, along with it, a cd player-which is a shame as I much enjoy watching movies/listening to music in bed.

I'm back reading a book. A young readers novel about a girl who moves to England and gets tied up in a war situation. I'm trying to finish it, as I much want to start reading "A home at the end of the world".

Hopefully tomarrow will be a better day....
