As promised, Light bulb photos.

The class was to make a shrine out of a light bulb. We took a dremmel tool and cut the ends off, and then like a "ship in a bottle" shoved things in it, to make shrines. It was alot easier to cut the end off than what I thought.

My original concept was to have a hand, trying to reach objects on a ceiling, that the hand would never reach. IT was a piece about letting things fall as they may, and trying to grab ahold of something, and only feeling thin air. Concept piece. However, in the process i made some funky paint/liquid caulk soup, and had to abort the orignal plan.

I'm not 100% happy with the result. Alot of people loved it, and I just had problems all day. Specially since it was only an 8 hour class, and to try to finish, was almost impossible.

Here it is. The viewer is supposed to look into the bulb, where the remains of the culk soup and small objects are viewable. I COULD NOT get a photo of the inside to save my life (plus its WAY pass my bedtime). However the concept is to look into the bulb.

In 1978, Rochester, MN flooded. The downtown and surrounding areas suffered Millions in damage.

My house was one of those affected.

The garage, and basement were totalled. The current owners lifed up the house, put in a new foundation, took out the old radiators, and did some work on the house.

Because of this, the city helped aid, with a 1% tax increase, the flood control project, which not only put in "something" that would control future floods, but also added miles and miles of walking, biking, and hiking trails through-out the city.

Last week it was put to the test.

I did receive notice Monday Morning that I needed to prepare in case of evacuation. That scares the shit out of me. The levey was at the capacity, and if overflowed, we would be in TROUBLE. THankfully, the 125 million was sure well spent.

Last night we got another terrible storm, which found moi in my hot sexy bitch goloshes looking for water in the basement at the ripe hour of 0300.

My house insurance isn't going to cover crap. I applied for assistance through the city (who is offering $$$ with those who had sewer back up), and waiting to see what happens. Besides the carpret, it appears I don't have much damage, but I could get a plug thingy for the sewer drain to prevent this from happening again.

The plan of attack, is to move the guest bedroom to the main level, and move the ART STUDIO, once again to the basement. THe art studio is in its third move. At least I'll be able to spend the winter trying to create, or dig, or what have you.

Parents are comming up this weekend to help move shit down and re-arrange the basement. I HOPE if we decide to go with shelves, we hit IKEA, cause that place is the SHIT when it comes to shelving units. Also will need to pick out a paint color for the bedroom, and there will of course be shopping for stuff. YIPPIE. Excited.

Talked to Dad today. He was impressed at how much shit I accomplish yesterday. WHICH reminds me, I need to go through the drag shit and make that stuff magically disapear before they come. THey don't know that i do drag. OOPS.
