Light Bulb Photos
27 August 2007 00:35As promised, Light bulb photos.
The class was to make a shrine out of a light bulb. We took a dremmel tool and cut the ends off, and then like a "ship in a bottle" shoved things in it, to make shrines. It was alot easier to cut the end off than what I thought.
My original concept was to have a hand, trying to reach objects on a ceiling, that the hand would never reach. IT was a piece about letting things fall as they may, and trying to grab ahold of something, and only feeling thin air. Concept piece. However, in the process i made some funky paint/liquid caulk soup, and had to abort the orignal plan.
I'm not 100% happy with the result. Alot of people loved it, and I just had problems all day. Specially since it was only an 8 hour class, and to try to finish, was almost impossible.
Here it is. The viewer is supposed to look into the bulb, where the remains of the culk soup and small objects are viewable. I COULD NOT get a photo of the inside to save my life (plus its WAY pass my bedtime). However the concept is to look into the bulb.
