greetings from Athens, Ga. A much needed break from the mudane life at the wfmc. Whoppee. Made it here with an uneventful plane trip, and a great drive through the downtown Atlanta. Six lanes of traffic, moving like blood through veins... it kicks ass...
I noticed moreso this time in Athens, than before...that this little town stuck in once confederate Georgia sucks one into the liberal, peace, tree huggin lifestyle, that I absolutely love and thrive off of. It grabes ahold of one, like a gentle hand in the rain, and never lets go. Its conforting, and relaxing.
Having once been a Avid R.E.M. fan-o.k. obsessive compulsive, I had left them behind a few years ago, and moved on to more music choices. Partly because of the rememberences of Kara. I sold all of my RARE and hard to find LP's, fan club singles, promo items, ect. Lately, and much recently, I have slowly diped into this pool of there music, and am finding a love with it that I have never had before. One could do alot of serious credit card damage in this town, collecting all the promo items and rare r.e.m. stuff that is for sale. I have passed the church that the band started out at back in the 80's many times during the weekend. Its like almost comming back to Mecca.
Speaking of which, Pylon, one of R.e.m.'s bands that they played with back in their starting out days, played outside the 40 watt last night. They were KICK motherfucking Ass. I about died when they played "wolves lower" a R.E.M. cover. Also saw a richmond Va, band-The gaskets, which was a great techno/electronic, odd sort of duo guys being crazy and kick ass......
But anyways....
On a side note, since I am just waking up with some coffeee, scored a VINTAGE lego set at Agora's (a thrifty store here in Athens). It kicks ass!! hee hee!!

ineedcoffee is a blast! Her roomates kick ass, and I am tickled pink that she invited me down!! 8-)
On another side note: the Cat is a magnificant flying taco!
