Call your MOTHER!!!!

Although testimonial to the fact I keep myself out of loop, I find it quite annoying that everyone felt it necessary to contact me today, to inform me that it is indeed Mothers day.
I also seem to get a plethora of phone calls around day light savings time, fathers day. Never on Christmas. People assume I can remember that holiday.
There are too many holidays-most centering on either religion or family members. Since i don't practice a religion and my "family" is a melting pot of sexuality of the sexes, it rules most holidays out.
This family thing. Odd isn't it. I spent the entire weekend socializing like a mother-fucker. Ran unexpectedly over to Dale and Erics for afternoon "tea". They have the GAY-EST yard on the block. Seriously. They have the only yard landscaped to high-heaven, and its beutiful. Zoomed over to have dinner with Joe. Unless something else comes up, which it could very much occure, I'm planning on attending the Northwest Faerie Gathering with him in August. He wanted to have dinner to ask if I wanted to drive? I assume as the conversation had to be PULLED-by me, out of thin air.
J and I touched on this topic alot this weekend--how that we have traveled and experienced differnt "Situations" than the norm, are we better able to adapt in any situation that life presents us. Its the whole being able to have fun in a dried up metaphore situation once again. Which why I find the midwest citizens to be so stale, stagnet and quite boring-they get caught up in this tradional set of behaviors, that dictates his or her life....
But yes, I did call my mother, and left a message on the machine. THey were out visiting my brother and my sister.....
