Missed a "turn", relying on weak cell reception, grateful that I had even some connection. Headlights beaming down an earthen path surrounded by loading outlines of branches,  gave me minimal reassurance to where I was, besides the obvious: in Eastern Texas, in the middle of no-where, at night. Alone. Just the situation I was trying to avoid." Damn you three hour wait at the Budget Car Rental" as I shook my fist in protest, plugging along forward into the abyss.  hoping my map reading capabilities would come through.  I found myself back to the "main" road, I had been on.  It shouldn't be much longer, about seven miles on the left, I thought as I saw the odometer slowly move one more mile.

The stiff "J" surrounded by a ring of iron, attached to a familiar farm gate, glimmered as my headlights made contact. And the gate was open.  Crossed the threshold,  looking for tred marks to follow over this sandy field. There seemed to be lights ahead of some buildings. Maybe there is a welcome center? Or a phone-less castle? I'll ask there, I thought. Some parked cars came into view, I pulled along side one and parked. Got out of the car.  Shadows of others came into view from the alone light hanging above. I heard familiar voices, saw obscure voices, signed my name on a sheet.

After tossing my gear into his SUV, Arrow took me down a hilly windy gravel road away from the minimal light and buildings, and signs of civilization.Headlights dancing across objects in the abyss, some I couldn't make out.  Across a field, down a hill, around a lake, up another hill,  round a bend, and then into a small tree area. Dragged the wheeled suitcase over the crunchy leaves into a small alcove in the compound Arrow had set up. It was complete with a small lounge area of rugs laying on the earth, coffee table, solar lights, and chairs.  Prepared to set up in the dark, I found my headlamp, creating shadows as I popped a tent. The other two tents were mansions compared my my simple shelter, a place to lie vertical and be protected better from the elements. I pulled up a chair in the common area, finally able to take a break. I have a place to sleep tonight.

The break expired before it started. Dawne noticed colored lights in the distance. The leaves crackled, branches snapped as we hiked into a defined open area.  Red dots  insync with Rave green squares, circled and danced in a parallel dance in a global display of light with movement. I was standing still.  Others came.Like moths to a flame. Familiar voices from the blacked unlit areas, drawn to the formed container, broke the silence.  I have heard these people before, I thought. Names lost in time and memory falling on my deaf ears.

"This is sooo cool" someone said.

I still had no idea where I was. There wasn't anything that could give direction. Was I facing North, or West?  Where was my tent?  Where did I park the car?  It was night. Dark. Time had been stripped. I had no car keys, ID, Phone. I had the clothes on my back, and flip flops on my feet. All was gone.  And here I was.

Where I was, was in the center of the universe. On a dance floor. In nature. Created by a collection of creativity. Created by a bunch of fairies.  I was at my destination. After leaving the house at 7 a.m., arriving at my godparents by 9, being transported to the airport.  The flight to Dallas. The long wait for the rental car. The three hour drive.  getting lost. After all that. I was sucked into a vortex and have arrived. I was here.
