The St. Vincent De Paul thrift store, in Marshfield, WI is legendary.
I remember hearing about its reputation, 20 years ago in high school. It was to be "pretty good".
Marshfield, WI is about 3 hour drive east of here, in northern middle of no-where, Wisconsin.
I took PTO this week, because one of my Doctors is on Paternity leave, which makes me being gone a bit easier. There isn't clinic to cover. Except I was seeing some patients. Oopsy. I had to let that go, and quick.
Monday, picked up the rental car. Its the birthday gift that keeps on giving. Its a cute little blue car, hundai thingy, that was just begging to go on a little bit of a road trip. I finally felt up to it this morning, and hit the road about 10:00 a.m. Had to figure out the gas cap thingy on the car. Always an adventure.
So much fun riding a "new" super clean car. I still need to find the french fry that escaped. Was clean. LOL. It was a beautiful sunny day, and lord knows I could use some sunlight in my life.
Road trips help clear the mind. I have conversations with myself, mull over random crap, and vocal tell myself "o.k."
Wisconsin is still another planet in pandemic world tour 2021. They have a mask mandate, yet still a bit of trump country, non-the-less. Therefore besides a gas stop and a McDonald's run, I relished in the joy of driving.
St. Vincent's, is massive and multi-floored, a bit of a maze, specially in the book section. Its organized and fair priced, not cheap, but not bloody expensive. Shirts were 2-3 bucks. I picked up some Land End Long underwear. There wasn't much "vintage" except in the book and periodical section, which was fairly good. They even had a small GLBTQAI ect section, which was nice. I picked up a men's magazine for 2 bucks from the 50's. Maybe for a paper craft or ads.
That was yesterday.
This morning, I got my second vaccine, and am in a holding pattern to if I get any side effects. Maggie was a joy, and I lucked out in who gave me my injection. Loved her.
