"An Early Frost"
9 February 2008 06:49Undoubtedly, there are others, who are able to chime in, with much older history, and vast knowledge. If I would put myself in a box, it would be in the transitional group between a time that was, and a time that is.
I grew up in a time, and can recall when MTV played music videos, reality TV was unheard of, smoking was allowed in hospitals, and universal precautions were not used, AIDS was not widespread.
Seeing society change over the years and the amount of knowledge that has been learned is facinating.
For the time period in which it was released, and "Early Frost" was decades ahead of its time and protrayed the issues revolving around the issue with modern pizzaz, courage, and strength. And an all star cast of individuals who know the true meaning of acting. Aidian Quinn plays the central character Michael, who not only has to deal with the new diagnosis of AIDS but comming out to his parents, his mother who is the stealler Gena Rowlands of "The notebook". The humor of the film comes from John Glover. His best roll was of course in "Love Valour and Compassion". His protrayal of an AIDS patient who is fighting, reminds me of his character James Jeckle. John was nominated a emmy for his role in an "Early Frost".
Definately a must watch film for those individuals who are interested in the progression of cinama, or just want to see a very well done film that was light-years ahead of its time.
