In her wild and crazy college days, my mother met up with some great girlfriends, who have remained friends for over 30 years. Every year, the weekend after the fourth, they convine at a campground, in the middle of no-where. Drink beers, talk, catch up. I have been going for around 20 some years. My brother and sister did attend at one time, but with draughts one year, tornado's, ect.. they each said "Adieu". The weekend has become a great time for mother-son bonding.
Got lost on my way there. So much for yahoo maps. Luckily I was on the right road, heading the wrong direction. Made the mistake of calling Kevin, who wasn't at all help trying to get my un-lost. However I thought I should call him and thank him for the rose-although I do agree its feeding the fire. Luckily cell phones do not work at the campsite, and it was a peacefull weekend.
I didn't do jack over the weekend. Slept, ate some really good food, read part of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoneix, swam, talked, roasted marshmellows. Laid low.
Its tradition on Saterday night to have "Hobo dinner" Basically we throw a bunch of stuff in tinfoil, throw it on the fire, and eat it. Ketchup is a blessing. One year I think we poured in 5 bottles of ketchup?!? It changes every year. Something I always look forward to.
My brother and family came up Saterday as a surprise. I got to see PORKCHOP. He is so damn cute.
The group of roomates are all differnt, and lead seperate lives. One of the children of the roomates is my age, married, and has 7 kids. The oldest is 7 years the youngest is 10 weeks. I was so not used to having kids around. Yuck. Too many kids for my taste.
Had a great time, camping is totally what I needed. Photos behind the cut
