Trying to pull it off....

Ah my crazy fucked up little world. Welcome to it.

Yet again, another fun filled packed week ahead. This time, this bitch is ready for it. BRING IT ON. The truth will come Sunday at the Annual Minneapolis May Day Parade, of course.

Between then and now I have pretty much set my course for how the week is going to be run. Just another load of laundry to put away, and another load of dishes to wash, and I'm all set.

I made major productive strides, which makes me feel a little more grounded, and a little more "here". Early Morning Yoga with Nicole-will of course help matters. And with the Gym opening up in a 1/2 an hour, any chance of sleep is useless.

Depending on how the day goes, and what time I get home tonight from the cities, I figure I can sleep all day Wednesday to get caught up.

Hopefully I can pull it all off....

My cousin who is older than me is a nurse in O.R. for the last 20+ yrs. She is a good person coming to Rome to visit. I know she is really looking forward to this visit because she is tired and just wants to relax and enjoy herself. Can you tell me what would make a nurse happy? in terms of relaxation and just fun. I have not seen her since she married some 30+ yres ago and moved to Victoria Canada on the West Coast.

here is what I would do

How long is she going to be there, and what time of the day does she arrive?

Let's say your picking her up at the airport in the morning, and she's spending a week.

Pick her up at the airport-De Vinci, and take a mild drive back to your place. If able, drive by some of the monuments, and welcome her to Rome. I'd start off with a RELAXING breakfast, with maybe an Amosa, and some fresh cut flowers for a centerpiece.

I'd let her relax and settle in.

Find out what she wants to do.

A fun day in Rome would be to Walk around the Roman Forum area, and maybe have lunch near the Parthanon. Then walk over the the Spanish Steps, and take in the afternoon, and maybe walk down the shopping street (can't think of its name) and go where the day takes you.

When she arrives, i'd make sure she doesn't sleep for too long. It is easier for her to get used to the time change.

Places that are a must see in Rome:

St. Peters.
The Parthanon and Trevi Fountain-Specifically AT NIGHT
The Church of the Cappuins. It is near Bernini Plaza. It has the bones of the Monks desplayed in a very odd but artful manor.

Also a LOCAL thrift/flea market in the morning, would be a hoot, as well.

As for day trips, a fun one with a pair of locals like yourselves would be the small towns North of Pisa on the coast. Siena, San Giamanio (I'm sorry, I'm killing the spelling), the "Under the Tuscan Sun" type of trip, would be a great day trip.

Make it very casual, unplanned, relaxing, and yet romantic.

Let me know if you have any other questions, I love talking about places I've been to more than once, and suggesting fun little things to do.
