A refreshing Breath
Met up with someone I have been talking to on the internet (gay.com). He came over and there was a nice dinner and coffee. It was very refreshing to meet someone who I could have a decent conversation with, watch a movie with and not have to explain everything. Wow there are quite normal people out there... crazy!
Still battling my cold. I'll have to try to get a script from one of the doc's this weekend. At least I am able to get out of bed and be somewhat active-but this cold is getting old.
Tried calling
auryn24's cell phone. Didn't even get her voice mail. Have been lurking in the Nola live journal group, with no results but interesting information is abound. Someone mentioned about how we can send troups over to a foriegn country, yet can't control a situation in our own country. Its so hard because the area is basically a ground zero. Everything is shut down, phone lines, power, and postal mail is totally out of the question. Pretty scary.....

Still keeping auryn in my prayers and such for you.
If I get the opportunity, I'm going down there as part of a nursing team.

You are entertaining with a cold? What did your mother teach you about such things. lol... I hope you are feeling better. *hugs*
They were showing on the news tonight this one town in Mississippi, I think, the only place people could get cell phone signals is right next to this bridge that doesn't exist any more. So who knows what kind of signals people are able to get down there.
Your friend remains in my thoughts and prayers.
Hugs, Jon

Liz and I texted a few times back and forth last night. She was still at Methodist in NO (I think they are evacuating it today), still with no power, little food, water and medicine. She said things were bad, but she was still optimistic. She asked for prays.
Cell phone service is sketchy at best to our part of the world (Baton Rouge-New Orleans), but text messages seem to work well.
that was on 9-1 it looks like..
